Hi! My name is Deanna and I am a mother, wife and artist. I am a professional portrait photographer offering services in family portraits, newborn photography, wedding photography and special event photography. I love working with people to create artwork that they will cherish for many years to come!

Photography has been a passion of mine since I was a child when I "borrowed" my brother's Fisherprice camera to snap pictures of my friends while we pretended to have fashion shoots in the backyard! Growing up I always had a little point and shoot or my handy polaroid camera, capturing moments everywhere I went (when I was very young I even had a camera shaped squirt gun that was a hit at family parties!). My friends and I took toooooons of selfies well before they had a name. When I reached high school and my father handed down his Canon SLR camera, photography quickly became an obsession. I never went anywhere without my camera bag stocked with lenses and plenty of film. I could easily shot 15 rolls in one vacation. When I was 16 I was fortunate enough to be hired by a wonderful local family and I spent several years working in their camer shop and studio. I've also studied with some truly incredible instructors, learning everything from the basics to the many techniques of lighting and a variety of alternative photographic processes. In 2007 I graduated from Hartford Art School at the University of Hartford with my Bachelors in Fine Art Photography as well as Ceramics but I continue my education with a variety of online and in person seminars. There is always something new to learn in this field! I spent many years in a dark room but as a professional I have gone completely digital. Although I still go gaga over the sound of the shutter on a classic Hasselblad and I still love the smell of the processing chemicals!

When I started out I loved photographing my friends and family, capturing all of the fun moments of my childhood. Now I have the pleasure of capturing those moments for all of my amazing clients and I consider myself truly blessed to be welcomed by so many families into their most vulnerable and intimate moments. I hope to honor these moments with timeless portraits that will be treaured for many years to come <3 <3 <3
